Are you studying oceanography, ornithology, earth science, or life science this year?
Years ago when I was teaching my homeschooled children about the ocean, we did a little side study of Birds of the Ocean. It was fun! I kept several pages of the materials I made for our studies, and collected them together into the following little mini unit:
This little 24-page packet includes information cards about 18 different types of ocean-going birds, puzzle worksheets, “Who Am I?” worksheets, a card game, and even a couple extra English language arts worksheets that feature the birds in the unit and a matching (visual discrimiation) page for preschool or kindergarten. A great way to involve the whole family!
The Birds of the Ocean mini unit can be purchased at Teachers Pay Teachers, and it will be given away as a FREEBIE on the H.E.R. site about 3 days every year. Use it as a standalone unit, or combine it with some of the other resources shown below.
